    Binding Estimate

A FMCSA-recognized quote that locks in the price as long as the inventory matches what was surveyed.

Under FMCSA 49 CFR Part 375, movers can offer binding or non-binding estimates. A binding estimate guarantees the price for the inventory listed; if additional items are added on move day, the carrier must offer a revised binding estimate before loading. Customers prefer binding because it eliminates surprise charges.
